Long before “mindfulness” became a buzzword, yoga was part of how Indian schools built calm, focused children, and DPS Gangtok carries that forward with regular yoga sessions for our students. Set against Gangtok’s own quiet, hill-town rhythm, these sessions help children slow down, breathe, and reset between academic periods.
Yoga at this age isn’t about perfecting a posture — it’s about giving children a tool to manage exam stress, restlessness, and the general overstimulation that comes with growing up in a busy world. Parents often tell us they notice the difference at home too: children who practise yoga regularly tend to be calmer, more patient, and better able to sit with a task till it’s done.
