Delhi Public School, Gangtok paid tribute to the courage, sacrifice and indomitable spirit of the heroes of the Kargil War through a special assembly commemorating Kargil Vijay Diwas.
The assembly brought together heartfelt prayers, inspiring speeches, a self-composed patriotic poem and soulful renditions of “Vande Mataram” and “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon.” Each presentation reflected the students’ gratitude and respect for the brave soldiers who served the nation.
A special highlight of the programme was a powerful live newsroom-style skit that recreated the reporting of the 1999 Kargil War. Through the performance, students portrayed how news from the battlefield unfolded, giving the audience a glimpse into the defining moments of the conflict and helping bring history to life through experiential learning.
The tributes served as a meaningful reminder of the courage and sacrifice of the nation’s armed forces, encouraging students to reflect on the values of unity, responsibility, courage and love for the nation.
